Oil Stocks Remain Historically Cheap vs S&P 500!
The Kobeissi Letter:  The disconnect between oil stocks and the broader market has rarely been wider:

The 6-month correlation between the S&P 500 Energy Sector and the S&P 500 is down to -0.38, near its lowest on record.

This marks a sharp reversal from a positive correlation of +0.74 observed in June 2025.

In the last week of September, this figure fell as low as -0.45, the lowest reading in data going back to the 1980s.

KING WORLD NEWS NOTE: Oil Stocks Should Move Violently Higher vs US Stock Market

The only other time since the late 1980s when the correlation between these two indices turned negative was in 2000 and 2001, during the Dot-Com Bubble burst.

This all comes as the S&P 500 Energy Sector has rallied +23.1% over the last 6 months, significantly outperforming the S&P 500’s gain of +7.1%.

Energy stocks are having a historic year amid the Iran War.
