Today King World News is pleased to share a fantastic piece which reveals absolutely shocking developments in gold, currency markets, and remarkably bad economic releases. This piece also includes 4 stunning illustrations that all KWN readers around the world must see.
February 11 (King World News) – Economic releases have been coming in below expectations in recent months, leading the most widely watched economic surprise index to show extreme weakness. While stocks have held up well in spite of disappointing economic releases, it has been a mild negative going forward.
The Citigroup Economic Surprise index (CESI) for the United States has been slumping for weeks and just dipped below – 25, the lower edge of what could be considered extremely negative (see chart below).
KWN note: In spite of the surprising economic releases to the downisde, the U.S. dollar sentiment is through the roof (see chart below).
KWN note: When turning to the gold market, sentiment still leans a bit closer to the pessimistic side. This is despite the enormous geopolitical turmoil as well as the Greek crisis (see chart below).
KWN note: One currency with incredibly bearish sentiment is the Canadian dollar (see chart below).
