This Is Different!
March 27 (King World News) – Fred Hickey: This is different! After hours yesterday, Trump tries to sooth slumping markets with another of his pronouncements. Initial reaction is as expected. Risk on. Stocks, bonds & gold rally and oil slips.
But… the impact is short-lived and (almost) everything reverses – stocks down hard, bond yields rise & oil prices increase. The one exception is gold – up $100 per oz. currently. As a result, I decided to do a little gold miner stock buying this A.M.

Daily action here shows what’s going on during the electronic session the night of the 24th (but which will be part of the price range of the 25th).
After sweeping the February price low (which we suggested in the weekend report was possible if not likely), gold has traded $500 above that low tonight. More important are some of the daily and weekly momentum charts we showed as an array in the weekend report. Here’s a very sensitive weekly momentum chart that has just cleared all highs from March, which were capped at the zero line. If we see a daily settlement above $4528.20, then the zero line will be cleared (using the April future).
No, it’s not a final all-clear signal, but one of several that say there’s a very good chance the spike trade below the February low (circled) was a final cleansing spike and upside is resuming. We’ll update as events unfold.
