As we kickoff trading in the third week of 2018, all eyes are now on the US dollar, even as the Dow breaks above 26,000.
January 16 (King World News) – From top Citi analyst Tom Fitzpatrick: “Outside weeks indicating a lower US dollar are seen across the board in major currency pairs (see chart below).
US Dollar On The Edge Of A Major Plunge!
This comes despite good US data at the end of the last week, which should send a clear message not to fight the trend of a falling US dollar.
The market has not waited at the start of this week to take the US dollar lower still, with US dollar vs Japanese yen now below the pivot of 110.84.
The next supports on the US dollar are at 88.46 – 89.62. Below there we would see a move to 84.10 – 84.75.”
King World News note: If the US dollar continues to weaken, the decline may accelerate. This will send the prices of gold and silver surging even higher along with the shares of the high-quality companies that mine the metals.
