– Emerging from an extremely brief shadow in the modern headlight technology wars, Audi has announced it will debut a concept car at this fall’s Frankfurt auto show featuring Matrix OLED headlights. After sparring with BMW over who’d be first to market with a laser headlight, Audi is moving to incorporate OLED (organic LED) lighting into its clever Matrix headlight technology, the one where a multitude of individual lights are

Patton, two guys who accomplished a lot in life but are often remembered first (or second—certainly in the top five) for hitting an underling. You can scream and you can throw things, as Indiana’s Bobby Knight did,

The Long Goodbye: We Drive Every Generation of Land Rover Defender

-Nothing is more British than the Land Rover Defender. Not the royal family, not warm beer, not even an understanding of cricket’s LBW rule or the baffling urge to have a lovely cup of hot, milky tea when the temperature is nudging 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the shade. Which is why the official retirement of this venerable, but much-loved, automotive fossil has practically triggered a bout of national mourning. So

Afghan intelligence agency says Taliban's leader is dead

KABUL (Reuters) – A spokesman for Afghanistan’s intelligence agency said on Wednesday that Taliban supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar died two years ago in a Pakistani hospital. The statement by National Directorate of Security spokesman Hasib Sediqi came after the Afghan government said it was investigating reports of Omar’s death, just days ahead of an expected second round of peace talks with the Taliban.
