$35 Indian Computer, NY Garbage, Congress Food Tab
While India is headed higher in terms of standard of living and their economy, the west continues to sink into the abyss led by New York which is having major financial problems. India is kicking out a $35 computer, while New York looks to charge residents more money just to remove trash. On a separate note, Congress is spending a fortune on food and catering, including $604,000 on bottled water while many Americans are suffering.
New Delhi, India (CNN) -- India has unveiled a $35 computer prototype as part of its program to provide connectivity to its students and teachers at affordable prices.
Kapil Sibal, the country's human resources development minister, displayed what he called a low-cost computing and access device in New Delhi on Thursday.
The ministry said the price would gradually fall to $10 a piece.
India said connectivity to all its colleges and universities is key to achieving its education goals.
Home to a billion-plus population, the country's literacy rate stands at 65 percent, according to the 2001 census figures.

New York’s financial woes has Mayor Bloomberg thinking of asking for more money if you want your trash removed:
There was a move Thursday to spin garbage into gold. Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he's thinking about plugging his budget gap by charging New York City residents a fee for trash removal.
City residents produce 11,000 tons of trash every day. Collecting it is covered by taxes.
But there is a proposal to separate garbage collection from general taxes, and charge people for what they throw away, based on how much it is.
Plenty of New Yorkers are turning up their nose at the idea.
"I'm very much against it," one resident said.
"I think we pay a lot of taxes already," another added.
